Retrofit Assessment Tonbridge

Retrofit Assessment Tonbridge

Retrofit is the term used to introduce new technology into an existing property with the aim of reducing the energy used in that home. This is important for many reasons including lower bills, creating a comfortable home and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

We carry out a whole house retrofit which focuses on a ‘fabric first’ approach. This simply means to try to reduce any energy that is lost through the fabric of the building ie walls, roof, floors, doors and windows. It is the best way for a household to gain control of the energy they use and tackle improvements in a sequential way.

Each house is assessed on its own merit and have its own bespoke retrofit plan. Our assessors work methodically to determine the best approach to suit the individual property.

The UK Government has identified the retrofit of buildings as a key lever in their low carbon strategy to achieve 68% carbon reduction by 2030. All affordable homes will be required to achieve a minimum EPC of C by 2030.

All ECO funded refurbishment projects will be required to achieve full compliance with PAS 2035:2019 from July 2021 with a 20% funding uplift for projects that comply before the deadline.

PAS 2035:2019 (Specification for the Energy Retrofit of Domestic Buildings) is set to revolutionise the refurbishment of buildings.

Over the last 30 years energy efficiency programmes have focussed on single measures (i.e. cavity wall insulation or window replacement, etc) but all future programmes will require a holistic solution designed to suit the specific building type.

To comply with PAS 2035 a qualified Retrofit Coordinator like Go Property Reports must be employed to provide a ‘Whole House Retrofit’ solution.
